Our Constitution and Bylaws

Below you will find our constitution and bylaws that were sworn into effect when our club was founded in 2013. With careful thought, deliberation, and collaboration, we present to you our constitution and bylaws.

Our goals as a club are outlined in our constitutional bylaws, but we'll take the leg work out for you to highlight our objectives. They are as follows:

Article I, Section 2: 
 

  1. To encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Kerry Blue Terriers and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

  2. To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as the only standard of excellence by which the Kerry Blue Terrier shall be judged.

  3. To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at:

    • Dog [conformation] shows

    • Obedience trials

    • Tracking tests

    • Herding Trials

  4. To conduct sanctioned matches at:​

    • Dog [conformation] shows

    • Obedience trials

    • Tracking tests

    • Herding Trials 

    • And any other event for which the club is eligible under the rules and regulations of the AKC.
